Hi Everyone!! I am Mrriah Sunshine Curtis, I am from Topeka, Kansas and I just graduated from Washburn Rural Highschool. I'm 18 years old but by the time i get to meet you lovely ladies I will have celebrated my 19th birthday! While in school I participated in tennis, diving, and I was heavily involved in the art department, so i suppose you could say  I am a creative athlete! In January 2011 my goal was to go to Emporia State University after highschool, but God totally shut that door. The Lord made it so clear to me that college is not right for me, at least not directly out of highschool. Although waiting on what his plans for me is was exhausting and took so much patience I couldn't be happier with the outcome! I have wanted to work in human trafficking since sixth grade but never thought it was possible. God is so good! I was working as a server at On the Border Mexican Grill and Cantina but, man oh man, food business is not my thing. Now i get to play with prom dresses and clothes all day at Deb. My family is very close. Anyone who knows us knows that the Curtis' stick together! My mom is a fantastically wonderful stay at home mom and my dad is a strong manly construction worker. Then, you have my handsome 17 year old brother, Skylar Oceans, my adorable three year old sister, Memphis Sunset, and my littlest brother who is a month old and already spoiled, Stryker Storm. My family truely is my strength, joy, and courage, next to our heavenly pops of course! Things that i love -- Taco bell, dresses, owls, drawing, JJ Heller, the word lovely, rain, muddy feet, the movie Tangled, and Where the Wild things are (which is banned in my house because it transformed my sister into a total psycho). I dream of my wedding everyday... and most people think I am a nut job when I tell them my dream is to wash my future husbands feet with my hair at our wedding, hopefully he is open to creativity. I would like to think I am tough but truth is I can only do five man pushups, which makes me feel like a wimp. Oh! i also recently learned to play the guitar so I will be bringing that to Thailand to worship our savior as a team!  I am so passionate about girls who have been broken, I love to encourage them in their self worth, their beauty, and the healing power of Jesus. I have been on multiple mission trips, I love them because it just amazes me that its the people in the world that we consider less fortunate that have the most joy! They worship God for what the have and what they have is enough. I have found this to be true in Costa Rica, Belize, Chicago, Kansas City, Joplin, and even in Topeka. I would say the scariest part of this Thailand trip for me personally is just being away from my family. I have prayed so often that God just unite us as a team so much that we become each others family and help ease eachothers homesick feelings! I am so excited to build great friendships with our team! One of the biggest things I cannot wait for would be to bring the bright light of the Lord to a really dark place, so many times in prayer Yahweh has told me that we are going to shine so much on our trip. I just keep letting Him know that we are His and willing to be used in anyway He wishes, and the more I pray the more anxious I am about getting out there to fullfill Gods will! Its going to be so great to meet you all January 13th!! I cant wait!!

P.s. I read that you guys have tattoos, I like tattoos. I actually went it with my mom to get matching ones on our back and...Lets just say I chickened out. Haha Greatest fear-- needles.
